Update 7/27/2008
Ok. I've definitely got a good story to write for a first post. I'll have it posted in the few days before I leave on August 2, but I have to get it all together and get over the surprise and shock of it.
I am an 19-year old college student (University of Michigan - Engineering Class of 2013)who absolutely cannot get enough of flying. I'm a Commercial Pilot with an Instrument Rating and I began this blog for a few reasons. The first is due to the inspiration of another blogger, Kent Wien, a First Officer for a major U.S. airline. The second reason is because I've always felt that many people have a lot of questions about aviation, whether it be the current state of the industry, delays, technical questions, fear of flying, etc. I hope to address those questions with my advanced knowledge of aviation and the airline industry. If you have any questions that you would like me to post with the answer, just e-mail me at mike_stangy@msn.com. Third of all, I think aviation is a beautiful thing. I wish to share the beauty of airplanes (even the dirty ones) and the spectacular views from a few thousand feet above the ground. Lastly, I have a tendency to travel a lot to foreign destinations. I plan to include reports of these trips with pictures and some stories about what happened.
